Light-Q Creations is a small, Southern Maine-based company specializing in Steampunk, industrial, and repurposed antique lamps and lighting fixtures. Each piece is crafted with inspiration drawn from the rich array of flea markets and antique stores in the area. We take pride in transforming cherished heirlooms and unique finds into stunning lighting fixtures, ensuring they don’t gather dust in attics but shine brightly on mantles and side tables.
About the Artist
Quentin Stockwell, the creative mind behind Light-Q Creations, is a seasoned Theatrical Lighting and Scenic Designer. With a BFA in Lighting Design from Ithaca College and advanced studies at NYU, Quentin has designed lighting and scenery across New England, particularly in the seacoast regions of Southern Maine and New Hampshire. His journey into repurposing lighting fixtures began while working as an electrician for various theaters, where he often rewired practical lighting fixtures for productions. Quentin’s passion for history, Victoriana, industrial equipment, early electronics, and mechanical timepieces fuels his creativity. He skillfully blends upcycled components and reclaimed parts to craft unique light fixtures, industrial lighting, found-object sculptures, and steampunk creations.
A Note About the Creations
Each lighting fixture from Light-Q Creations is individually designed using unique items, antiques, industry-standard plumbing parts, and newly purchased electrical components. These pieces often bear the marks of their history—dents, scratches, patina, and the worn feel of well-loved items. Quentin’s extensive experience, attention to safety, and common sense ensure these fixtures are as safe as possible, although they are not UL approved. While many components are approved for use in electrical assemblies, the fixtures themselves have not undergone UL testing. However, only quality components from reputable sources are used, and all fixtures are rigorously tested in Quentin’s own home before being offered to customers.
