FAQ
Please reach out and ask. You can email or DM me, and I will be happy to help you become the owner of one of my lamps. I have multiple payment options available, so I'm sure we can work something out.
Yes. I attend many Steampunk Festivals throughout New England, USA. I also participate in several local Craft Fairs every year and currently have some lamps in galleries, local antique shops, and listed on Etsy.
I create or recreate/transmute each item that leaves my shop. Some items are assembled from parts and pieces I find at antique shops, flea markets, and yard sales. Some items are mostly complete and just need some refinishing or refining touches. Some of my items are co-designed with my kids, who get credit for those items.
No. However, they are made from electrical components that are UL or CE listed for electrical assemblies. The electrical components—wire, sockets, plugs, and switches—that I use are all from reputable manufacturers. I build (or rebuild) and test all these lamps in my workshop. The complete lamps then go into my house for testing. With two adults and two kids in the house, I know they work before they get tagged for sale.
I find many of my parts and pieces at antique shops, flea markets, and yard sales. They are not new. They have a story and tell that story in the dents, scratches, and rust they have earned in their lifetime of use. You don't just paint over an artifact and hide its history. (Though occasionally, I do just that.)
Of course! I love doing one-of-a-kind projects with unique items. My background is in theater, so I am a fully collaborative designer. If you have an antique from Grandpa's workbench or Mom's kitchen that is just gathering dust on a shelf, I can help you move it into the living room or workshop as a conversation piece—giving it new life as a lamp!
The time it takes to make a lamp varies. Some are small, some are big, and some are epic in proportions. Some are very simple, while others require hours of planning, multiple coats of paint, specialty wiring, or decorative metalwork. Most take several hours of prep and assembly, though some may take several hours a day for most of a week to complete.
Yes. I can pack anything I build and ship it to you. The bigger and more complex its structure, the larger the box will be. I am happy to work out a shipping option that suits your budget, but I will always protect the lamp so that it will arrive safely for you to enjoy.
I use a variety of materials, including antique brass, bronze, pipe fittings, vintage glass shades, and new electric parts. Each piece is carefully selected to complement the overall design and ensure the highest quality.
Absolutely! I participate in various Steampunk and Craft Fairs throughout New England. Check my show calendar for upcoming events where you can see my work in person. Additionally, some of my lamps are displayed in local galleries and antique shops.
